XPLOSION celebrate magee women's birthdayPITTSBURGH, October 3, 2007 – The Pittsburgh Xplosion will appear at the fifth annual Magee Women’s Hospital Birthday Party at Kennywood Park on Sunday, October 7. This marks the second year that the Xplosion will take part in this event. The team will be stationed at the new Three Point Shooting game near the Auto Race and Kiddieland. The party is open from 1-6 p.m. and celebrates all people who were born at Magee. New head coach Carlos Knox and others from the team will appear in the event’s parade, which begins at 5 p.m. All who purchase tickets are welcomed to stay for Kennywood’s Phantom Fright Nights, which begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 or $65 for a family of five. Proceeds benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Patient Care Fund and Palliative Care Program at Magee. |

CELEBRATION IN THE PARKPITTSBURGH, July 25, 2007 – The Xplosion encourages you to come and join them at Pittsburgh's Fifth Annual North Side Celebration in the Park coming on Saturday, July 28 th . The celebration will be showcasing some of Pittsburgh 's finest artists, musicians, businesses and cultural institutions. The team will have a table set up at Allegheny Commons Park in the North Side of Pittsburgh from 11am to 7pm to encourage all Xplosion fans to come and get information about the high flying Black and Gold's upcoming season and events. Don't miss this opportunity to meet and greet with some of the Xplosion's front office workers as well as getting involved with other activities like interactive art projects, the health and wellness fair, the puppet parade, the North Side American Idol and kid's karaoke to mention a few. |

xplosion appear at 3rd annual kids expoPITTSBURGH, June 21, 2007 – The Pittsburgh Xplosion will be on hand to meet and greet fans and friends at the Third Annual Kids Expo on Friday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Butler County Airport. Hosted by State Senator Jane Clare Orie, the Kids Expo will be comprised of a diverse group of vendors with interests geared to children up to the age of twelve and their families. Attending will be state organizations, fire and emergency service personnel with safety equipment to educate the children, finger painting, bike safety, Disney Radio, special guest appearances from local personalities, and many other surprises to make this day a memorable one for everyone in attendance. |

XPLOSION host clinic for pittsburgh housing authorityPITTSBURGH, February 20, 2007 – The Pittsburgh Xplosion will team up with the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh to host a basketball clinic for up to 160 area youth prior to the team's game against the Albany Patroons on Wednesday, February 21 at 7:00 PM at the University of Pittsburgh's Petersen Events Center. The clinic will begin at 4:00 PM.Head coach Jaren Jackson and Xplosion players and coaches will instruct the children on the finer points of the game of basketball and provide tips to sharpen their game. City of Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl also presented the Xplosion with official proclomations, announcing December 9th, 2006 as "Pittsburgh Xplosion Day" in the City of Pittsburgh. |

XPLOSION march in "celebrate the season" parade PITTSBURGH, November 24, 2006 – The Pittsburgh Xplosion professional basketball team will open the holiday season by marching in the 2006 Celebrate the Season Holiday Parade presented by Macy's and WPXI on Saturday, November 25 in downtown. Head coach Larry Anderson , along with West Virginia All-American Kevin Pittsnogle and former Duquesne star Bryant McAllister will be among the members of the Xplosion meeting and greeting fans along the parade route. |

XPLOSION hold open practices at penn hills ymcaNov 23, 2006 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion professional basketball team will hold an open practice on Saturday, November 25 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Penn Hills YMCA. The Penn Hills YMCA is located at 11817 Frankstown Road in Penn Hills , Pa. Head coach Larry Anderson will lead the team through drills and scrimmage as part of its Continental Basketball Association Training Camp and will be available for autographs and pictures before and after practice. |

XPLOSION ring in holiday season at light-up nightPITTSBURGH, November 16, 2006 – The Pittsburgh Xplosion professional basketball team will ring in the holiday season on February 17, 2006 by making appearances at two locations for the 47th Annual Light Up Night celebration. Xplosion players and coaches will be signing autographs, taking pictures and mingling with thousands of individuals out to celebrate the season from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at PPG Place and Station Square . Xplosion team members were available to sign autographs and take photographs, as well as to monitor the basketball shooting area and participate in the Birthday Party Parade.The Birthday Party served as a special celebration for families who got their start at Magee. Proceeds from the event supported the Magee-Women's Institute and Foundation. |
