PITTSBURGH, December 6, 2006 – High profile additions Kevin Pittsnogle and Bryant McAllister combined for 51 points to rally the Pittsburgh Xplosion (0-3) from an 11-point fourth quarter deficit, but Indiana's (2-2) Shaun Fountain sank a three-pointer from the left wing as time expired in overtime to lift the AlleyCats to a thrilling 115-114 victory at Mellon Arena. Pittsnogle finished with 27 points and McAllister added 24 points and seven assists.

Turnovers plagued the Xplosion, particularly during the third quarter, when the AlleyCats outscored the Black and Gold 39-21. The surge erased an 11-point halftime deficit and gave Indiana an 11-point edge after three periods.

Pittsburgh rallied down the stretch sparked by a lineup that featured McAllister and Pittsnogle, along with Janerio Spurlock, DeVaughn Halsel and Isaac Jefferson. That quintet outscored the AlleyCats 28-17 in the final period of regulation 28-17. McAllister and Pittsnogle seemed to hit every key shot down the stretch and briefly gave the Xplosion the lead in the final minute, but a lay-up by Indy's Erick Barkley forced overtime with the score knotted at 108-108.

Scoring was tight in overtime and the Xplosion held a two-point lead, 114-112, after Pittsnogle grabbed an offensive board and hit a jumper from the left side. The AlleyCats however got the ball to Fountain who connected for the win at the buzzer.

The Xplosion return to the Mellon Arena hardwood on Saturday, December 9 at 7:05 PM against the Minot SkyRockets. Residents of the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County can receive 50% off regular priced ticket or purchase two tickets for the price of one with proper identification.
